IES PERFORMING BATTERY STORAGE AND LOAD-SHEDDING TESTING IN ‘EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES’ PROJECT WITH SDG&E

September 2015- IES will be performing measurement & verification testing on battery storage equipment from multiple battery companies, totaling over 7 megawatts of installations in the San Diego Gas & Electric service territory. IES will be evaluating the savings resulting from peak-load shedding, using the newly installed equipment to charge in off-peak times and using this stored energy during on-peak times to reduce energy costs. IES is excited to get to participate with the SDG&E ‘Emerging Technologies’ program once again, after several successful verification studies with the utility including variable speed pool pumps, boiler controllers, liquid solar pool covers and many others. As always, IES will be better poised to make informed recommendations to our clients after having first hand experience with these technologies.
