Proposition 39 Services
In November 2012, voters approved Proposition 39, the Clean Energy Jobs Act. This Measure grants $464 million for energy efficiency projects to California school districts, charter schools, county offices of education, and community colleges. This 2013-2014 allocation will be followed by an annual allocation of up to $550 million through the 2017-2018 budget-cycle. For more information on Proposition 39, including the original bill, frequently asked questions, and the application to receive funds for your school, please visit the California Energy Commission’s Proposition 39 page.
Given our extensive experience in school districts (see Previous Clientele), this influx of funds for efficiency projects in schools is very exciting for IES. Over 30% of our audits have occurred at California school districts, which has resulted in annual energy savings of millions of dollars. IES is uniquely qualified to help school Districts in California receive their funds and implement them over the course of the program, from initial energy audit to expenditure plan upload and approval with the California Energy Commission (CEC). IES is also able to assist through the implementation process, working with the District to select the most qualified contractors to accomplish their energy savings goals within budget.
